All vehicles imported on CIF basis. (Cost
Insurance and Freight)

Deposit payment at least 50% of CIF. The balance of 50% is payable
after shipping. Copy of shipping document
(Bill of lading) will be produced as evidence of shipping.
Some dealers might ask for 100% payment in
advance.

Payment is accepted in foreign currency or
Kenya shilling equivalent at TT selling rate
of day of payment.

Original documents will be released by
shippers only after receipt of second
payment. Note: delay might result in
incurring extra storage charges at the port.
5.
Import duty/Excise duty/VAT/IDF fees payable
by banker’s cheque to customs authorities.

The final figure in (5)
above is determined by custom authorities.

*For duty exempted importation, importers will
provide us with exemption documents issued
by the relevant authorities.
8.
We will require copies of National ID card
or passport and PIN certificate of importer.

The importer will arrange own insurance
before the vehicle leaves port premises

The Kenya Government requires a vehicle to
undergo roadworthiness inspections, which in
case of Japan is done by Japan Export
Vehicle Inspection Centre (J.E.V.I.C). This is to
certify the mechanical and body condition of
the vehicle.
11.
Delivery of the vehicle will be 35-60 days
from the date of receipt of deposit.
12.
Log book will be sent to you directly after
processing by the Registrar of Motor
Vehicles.
